Archaeology Notes

ND12SW 77 1192 2313

A small trapezoidal enclosure, situated in a gap between birch trees at the N edge of woodland to the S of Berriedale Church, was recorded during a pre-afforestation survey of Langwell-Rinsary Braes, Berriedale. It measures up to 15m by up to 9m with low rubble walls. It is depicted on the current edition of the OS 1:10560 map (1964) but appears to be of 19th century date.
