A pillbox recorded from a RAF WWII air photograph (RAF No.1 CAM oblique, no.11771, flown 15 April 1943), in the centre of the roundabout at Crewe Toll. The pillbox was manned by No.5 battalion and formed part of the Black and Blue lines of main defence of Edinburgh in the event of invasion.
