NJ05NW 25 c. 03 58.

A late Bronze Age socketed axe, of bag type with loop from near Forres was purchased for the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS, Accession no. NMA DE 117).

Proc Soc Antiq Scot 1949; 1962

(Socketed axe of Dowris type). Single find. Socketed axe, rough cast, porous, green, partly trimmed, cutting edge notched, signs of sharpening on blade; length 75mm, mouth 28 x 32mm, cutting edge 56mm, weight 258 gms.
