A field or enclosure is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Buteshire 1869, sheet ccxliii), but it is not shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1979).

HES Survey and Recording 25 June 2018

A desk-based assessment and walkover survey were undertaken in 2018 over five parcels of land on the Dougarie Estate. Unfortunately, the bracken and vegetation cover was such that locating previously recorded sites proved, in some cases, to be impossible and consequently there was little likelihood of finding and identifying as yet unrecorded sites. However, despite the challenging conditions a number of sites were recorded.
