Archaeology Notes

NH87NE 21 8952 7896

NH 895 789 Four rectangular buildings and associated enclosures.

Fuller details with NMRS.

Tain Archaeological Group 1995.

Four rectangular drystone enclosures and cottage - cottage not seen.

Buildings. Condition very poor.

4m by 14.5m; severely robbed perhaps to build nearby house.

CFA/MORA Coastal Assessment Survey 1998.

There is an inconsistency between the CFA/MORA Coastal Assessment Survey 1998 field notes (MS 2776/1/14) and the final report (MS 726/167). The ruined rectangular buildings were given a grid reference at NH 8952 7885 in the final report, but the field notes indicated that a different site (NH87NE 53 [now cancelled]) was investigated at these coordinates (NH 8952 7885).

Information from RCAHMS (SDW) 2008.
