Said to be a healing well. The name Tortola is said to derive from the island of Tortola in the West Indies.
Name Book 1869.
No trace of a well. At the site is an overflow pipe for a pond in the grounds of Golfview Hotel. The name 'Tortola Well' is no longer known locally.
