The richly ornamented offices of the Glasgow Gas Light Company at 42 Virginia Street still stand.

This bank later moved into 191 Ingram Street, for which see NS56NE 308. The building was then converted to residential use.

A small palazzo, designed 1867-70 for the Glashgow Gas Co by Melkvin and Leiper, with big and bold Roman Doric aedicules framing the first-floor windows and gigantic consoles carrying the doorhood. It has been incorporated into the Marks and Spencer store that stretches back from Argyle St.
