'An earthen tumulus or mound being broken into at Jemimaville by Major Munro (of Poyntzfield - NH 71 64) to procure gravel for metalling a road, an earthen urn of a very antique form was found in it, and which is at present in the possession of that gentleman.'
New Statistical Account (NSA) 1845.
The present owner of Poyntzfield has no knowledge of the location of this cairn nor of the whereabouts of its contents. Major Munro is dead and his only living relative now resides at Ullapool. The oldest inhabitant of Jemimaville had no further information to offer about this site. (No further information).
