Location formerly entered as NH 7037 6616.

(Location cited as NH 704 662). Kirkton, farm chimney, mid 19th century. Unusually for the Black Isle, this farm has a tall brick chimney for a steam-engine house.

J R Hume 1977.

A farm steading was recorded here as part of a desktop survey for the Resolis Water Main Renewal Project (NH 536 070 - centred). It was built in the early 19th century with alterations and additions carried out in the late 19th century. It was originally a threshing mill, which was replaced by a steam powered mill by Theodore Gerrard of Huntly. The mill was still in use until 1960. The chimney may have been added during work carried out in 1893.

The location of the farm chimney within the steading cannot be ascertained from the available map evidence.
