There is an early iron-smelting site called Thom-na-Haun (Mound of the Furnance) to the E of Clava.
W I Macadam 1893.
Not located, but probably in the vicinity of Allt Ruadh (Red Burn) at NH 767 447.

In 1887 Macadam noted what was probably a bloomery at Thom-na-Haun (Mound of the Furnace) to the E of Clava. The OS suggest that it stood near the Allt Ruadh (NH c. 767 447).
