Activities

Field Visit (September 1978)

Swordale NH 578 661 NH56NE

This extensive area of deserted settlement covers the summit of a ridge just NW of the chambered cairn (NH56NE 8) from which much of the building stone has probably been derived. What may be a domestic building, measuring 10m from NE to SW by 6m transversely and of dry-stone construction, stands among numerous enclosures.

RCAHMS 1979, visited September 1978
