All Other PA 68 General Collection. Photograph Albums. PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM NO. 68: THE ISABEL ASHER ALBUM (cf PA 138) Album of red leather with red morocco spine and corners and gilt rim. Autographed visiting album of watercolour sketches, amateur snapshots and commercial views, some recording holidays in the Ross and Cromarty region. Views include "Forest Hill", Muir of Ord; Highfield House, Ross-shire; Foulis Castle, Evanton; St. Olaf, Nairn; Beechwood, Murrayfield, Midlothian; Valleyfield House; Glenclelland, Aberfoyle; Largs House, Twynholm, Kirkcudbrightshire; Hattonburn House, Milnathort; Moniack (Reelig) House, Beauly; Newtonhall House, Kennoway; Achernack, Grantown-on-Spey; Broomfield House; Kilcoy Castle, Killearnan, Ross-shire; Balvaird, Muir of Ord; Glentruim, Newtonmore; Feuch Lodge, Banchory; Altnaskiah, Inverness; and Stirkoke, Wick. There is a photograph taken at the Manse of Abernethy, Nethy Bridge with a large group celebrating the Diamond Jubilee of Rev. William Forsyth on 15th October 1906. He had been minister of Ardersier, 1846-53, Dornoch 1853-63 and Abernethy 1863-1906. There are also views of Callander, Muir of Ord, Corsee at Nairn, and of sheep-shearing at Dornoch. There are press-cuttings about a meet of the Linlithgowshire Hunt from the Scots Pictorial of 26th November 1910, and a Bazaar at the Holy Trinity Church Music Hall on 11th, 12th and 13th February 1909 which includes photographs of the Lord Bishop of Edinburgh; Mr J. Selkirk, verger; Rev. E. Brook-Jackson, rector; and Mr. Graeme Goring,The Lady Dunedin, Mrs Redford, Mrs George Mackay, Mrs Brook-Jackson and Miss Hill-Thomson. The album contains many signatures and some photographs of family and friends including members of the Gillanders, Horne, Wardlaw, Mackenzie, Maclachlan, Munro and Haldane families and too many others to list. One snap shows Mr Bishop Culpeper in a fine wicker invalid-chair with Maclachlan of Maclachlan and Tibbie with "Sally in the background with bricks for Fanshaws house." Another shows Mr Parsons and dogs There is a picnic group showing Isabel Asher, A. Henderson, T. Horne, and H.J. Horne, E. Macpherson, B and M. Younger and R. Bruce Clark. Snaps show Susan at Achernack; Macdonald using a horse-rake; automobile S825 at Thieves Pass and Tibbie with Angeline, a cow; the summer house built by D.Macpherson at Glentruim; the bridge at Feuch Lodge and Colonel Bannerman and Baron Poellnitz. 1904 Batch Level
