Island of Coll, 19th Aug. A ship was totally wrecked on this island this morning, and all on board have perished; some goods have washed on shore in a damaged state, and up to the present time four bodies have been found. Some casks, addressed 'Ship MANDANE, Capt. Hutchison, Broomielaw, Glasgow', have been washed on shore. Mem. The MANDANE, Hutchison, sailed from the Clyde on the 14th Aug., for Demerara.

(Classified as wooden barque, with cargo of cotton, cloths and linen: date of loss cited as 19 July 1850). Mandane: this vessel was wrecked 60 yards off Crosspoll, on the W side of Coll. Capt. Hutchinson. (19/8/1850?)

Registration: Sunderland. Built 1837. 360 tons burthern.
