Island of Iona, 11th Aug. The GRAF VON SCHLIEFEN (barque), of Rostock, from Liverpool to Halifax, with salt and soap, ran on the rocks here, 8th Aug., with 7 feet water in her hold, and is likely to become a total wreck: part of the soap will be saved and materials, sails, &c., if the weather keep moderate.

Greenock, 17th Sept. The hull and gear of the GRAF V. SCHLIEFEN, from Liverpool to Halifax, N.S., which stranded, 8th Aug., at the Island of Iona, have been sold.

Registration: Rostock. Built 1851. 270nrt. Length: 31m. Beam: 8m.

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. Sgeir Rhunach is presumably to be equated with Sgeir Ruadh, an isolated stack off the SE coast of Iona.
