Accessing Scotland's Past Project

Aerial photographs taken in 1996 by the Aberdeenshire Archaeology Service have recorded the remains of a small enclosure and a building, each reduced to grass-covered footings. Both sets of remains lie in an area of rough grazing which overlooks the River Livet, situated about 650m south of Achdregnie steading. The aerial photographs also show traces of old fields and rig-and-furrow cultivation nearby.

Archaeology Notes

NJ22SW 32 2435 2402

Air photography (BKS NJ22 East 095, flown 1996) has recorded the grass-covered foundations of a small enclosure and house, with subdued rig and the remains of an earlier field-pattern, on a gentle SW-facing slope in an area of rough grazing.

Information from Aberdeenshire Archaeological Service, October 1996.
