Archaeology Notes

NH54SE 33 593 421

NH 44/54 OS 593421 No. 29 West of Cnoc na Moine.

A flat bottomed ditch 6 feet wide with the up-cast to each side comes out of the young fir wood on the west side of the march fence then goes in an easterly direction for 36 yards, where it now curves slightly towards the S.E. and is lost in a wider forestry track. This linear feature was, prior to the introduction of wire fencing, used as a track.

Coghill et al 1989

NH 598 427 (centre) A rapid archaeological survey was undertaken on the site of a proposed Woodland Grant Scheme. The survey was partially limited due to existing planting and harvesting. No sites other than those previously recorded were noted.

Full report lodged with Highland SMR and the NMRS.

Sponsor: Smiths Gore Chartered Surveyors.
