Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 5 September 2001.

The location assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary. Annat Bank is not noted as such on the 1999 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 8 September 2003.

(Location re-entered as NO c. 728 571 [N56 42.3 W2 26.8]). The location assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary. (Large-scale) UKHO chart BA 1438 notes Annat Bank at (name centred) N56 42.337 W2 26.686 [NO 72866 57190], near the S edge of an extensive sandbank is roughly triangular on plan, lines the NE side of the approach to Montrose Harbour and forms the southern edge of further un-named sandbanks which extend along the coast towards the North.

The Annat buoy lies off the SE point of the sandbank and defines the North side of the entrance to Montrose harbour approach. Montroseness (Scurdie Ness) Lighthouse (NO75NW 48) is situated at NO 73322 56758, and defines the S side of the channel entrance.

Montrose Harbour or the Port of Montrose (NO75NW 44.00) is centred at NO 7123 5121.

Information from Lieutenant Commander N McEachan, Royal Navy (Wrecks Section, UK Hydrographic Office) and RCAHMS (RJCM), 19 October 2011.
