Farm steading, standard U-plan with hayloft approached by forestair, formerly used as school, now a dwelling, and various 'improved' estate cottages, all later 19th century. The lone earlier survival - a former thatched cottage - makes an interesting comparison. Its thickset walls are squatter and boulder-footed, with a fireplace in the central partition wall that divided domestic quarters from byre. This plan, with chimney rising through roof ridge rather than gable ends, is characteristic of the area. From here you can walk into Knoydart, via Barrisdale.
