World War One Audit of Surviving Remains (10 June 2013)

During the First World War William Beardmore and Company built seaplanes at their works in Glasgow and established a seaplane slipway at Helensburgh where trials and testing were undertaken. It is likely that this slipway later became the Second World War seaplane base.

Information from HS/RCAHMS World War One Audit Project (GJB) 10 June 2013.
