Field Visit (6 June 1914)
Standing Stone, Ensay.
On the Cnoc a Chaisteil, about 200 yards north by west of Ensay House, at an elevation of 50 feet above sea-level, is an irregularly shaped narrow slab of stone set on end with a considerable slant to the west, measuring 4 feet 8 inches in height, 1 foot 9 inches in breadth and 8 inches in thickness.

An irregularly shaped, narrow slab of stone set on end with a considerable slant to the west. It is 4ft 8ins high x 1ft 9ins x 8ins.

A standing stone, as decribed by the Commission, set on living rock, its base supported by large stones.

Field Visit (22 June 2012)
This standing stone is situated in rough pasture at the edge of a rocky ridge overlooking Ensay House (NF98NE 22), some 170m to the SSE. Set on bedrock and supported by at least two stones at its base (though it leans slightly to the W), it measures 0.55m from NE to SW by 0.15m transversely at the base and stands 1.25m in height.
