6 April 1977. The wreck of a concrete barge measuring 150 x 60 feet (45 x 18 metres) was located on 24 March 1977 at 55 57 43N, 004 45 39W. Visual fix; Craig Tops flagstaff bearing 251 degree, Roseneath beacon bearing 310 degrees, Greenock Town Hall Bridge 167 degrees, Whiteforelands Pier bearing 278 degres. The site was examined by divers. The least depth [leadline] was 24 in a general depth of 25 metres.

6 July 1993. The site was examined on 9 May 1993 at 55 57 42N, 004 45 36.6W. NGR eastings 227726, northings 677730. The least echosounder depth was 20.9 in a general depth of ?20 metres. The side scan sonar showed a height of 1 metre. The vessel lies with it keel on an orientation of 060/240 degrees.

The UKHO chart (no. 1994, published 1974, revised 1994) notes Tail of the Bank to the E of the outer end of the defined channel of the River Clyde, off the Clydeport Ocean Terminal (NS27NE 56), Greenock. The name is centred at N55 57.4 W4 45.1 [NS 282 771].
