1 September 1976. A repeat of the above information appears in the RAF Sub Aqua Association newsletter of January 1976.

Hydrographic Office, 1995.

Classified as Motor Torpedo Boat: date of loss cited as 19 July 1945). MTB 712: this vessel was lost off Scapa. This is an MTB [Motor Torpedo Boat], but was reported as a German E-boat (unlikely).

Registration: British.

(Location of loss cited as N58 51.5 W3 9.58).

I G Whittaker 1998.

The location cited for this loss remains unverified. It fallsNE of the island of Fara, being E of North Point and N of Whiting Point (both coastal features on Fara). The former citation of this loss within Gutter Sound (to the W of Fara) is incorrect.
