Surveying Details

7 October 1974. The wreck was located by decca (6c) green d 32.5, purple g 62.3. It lies upright, with its keel on a bearing of 020/200 degrees. It is complete except for torpedo damage to the port side amidships. The vessel is estimated to be between 3500 to 4000 tons gross. The least depth is 42 metres.

23 June 1986. The site was examined on 25 February 1986 in 57 41 15N, 001 47 41W. NGR eastings 412230, northings 866405. Decca (n scot) red d 20.89, green d 32.36, purple g 62.31. The least depth by echosounder was 38 in a general depth of 51 metres. No scouring was observed. The sonar indicated a height of 13.4 metres, a length 120 metres, with the keel lying 090/270 degrres. The high points at each extremity may be fishing nets snagged on wreck and which are still semi-buoyant.
