NY37SE 12 c. 39 73 to c. 39 74

No indubitable traces have so far been discovered of the Roman road that is said to have ascended the valley of the River Esk, linking the fort at Netherby, Cumbria (NY 396 716) with that at Broomholm (NY38SE 7) and possibly continuing as far as that at Raeburnfoot (NY29NE 5).
