Inscribed: '...that this may have been a votive offering for the deed of blood. This capital bears a strong resemblance to the capital of this cross, only having two shields instead of four. Occasionally there is a date, but this seems generally more modern that the erection of the Cross, and seems to mark a removal or a restoration.''
