Henderson Scottish Aviation (also known as Greig and Henderson) built aircraft at a factory in Forbesfield Road. During the First World War the company is reported as having produced 250 Avro 504 aircraft. There was no established landing ground in the area from which aircraft might have been flown out, and it is likely that, as in the case of other factories, aircraft were delivered by rail.

The exact location of the factory is not known, but there was a large industrial building near the northern end of the road, on the west side, on the OS map surveyed in 1923.
