This boundary stone lies prone immediately W of a modern post-and-wire fence, some 630m WSW of Easter Denoon farmsteading (NO34SW 30). Rectangular in section, the stone is a sandstone slab measuring 1.16m in length by 0.6m in breadth and 0.1m in thickness. On its upper surface there is a shield-shaped cartouche containing the incised initials G and I, probably standing for George Innes, who owned Easter Denoon in the late 17th century. Flanking the foot of the shield is the date 1685. The obverse of the stone probably bears the initials D and N within a shield-shaped cartouche, above which there is an M and below which is the date 1685. The stone is depicted on the Glamis and Nevay parish boundary on both the 1st and 2nd editions of the OS 6-inch map (Forfarshire 1865, sheet xliii; 1903, sheet xliii.NE).
