A series of shallow quarry-pits have been dug into the SW face of the ridge along which the NE side of the more northerly of the two monastic enclosure partly runs. The row, some 31m in length, may have been dug to provide stone for the track that runs parallel to them immediately to the SW or the field wall, the remains of which ran along the SW side of the track.
