NT 78516 15483

This farmstead is located amid traces of rig and furrow cultivation on the grassy, N facing spur of Cuthberthope Rig, midway between the Yett Burn and Capehope Burn. It comprises at least one building and two turf banked enclosures. The building measures 12.5m from NNE to SSW by 4.8m transversely within turf and stone banks up to 0.4m in height and 0.8m in thickness; there are two internal compartments and an extension to the SSW measures about 10m from NNE to SSW by 5m transversely across turf and stone banks. Immediately to the NW there is a rectangular enclosure measuring 22m from NNE to SSW by 10m transversely which runs parallel to the building. A smaller subrectangular enclosure extends from the SW corner of the enclosure to the SE corner of the building, measuring about 17m from WNW to ESE by 12m transversely.
