NLO: Easter Head [name: ND 202 767]

Dunnet Head [name: ND 203 768]

Pentland Firth [name centred ND 35 81].

Formerly also entered as ND27NW 8004 at cited location ND c. 20 76.

The YOUNG THOMAS, Streig, from Dantzick [Gdansk] to Liverpool, is on Shore at Dunnel [Dunnet] Head, North of Scotland.

Source: The Marine List, Lloyd's List, No. 2302, London, Friday 27 May 1791.

NMRS, MS/829/69 (no. 3539).

(No classification or cargo specified: date of loss cited as 5 May 1791). Jonge Thomas: this vessel stranded on the NE point of Dunnet Head. Capt. Streig.

Registration: Danzig [Gdansk].

(Location of loss cited as N58 40.33 W3 21.50).

I G Whittaker 1998.

The location of loss assigned to this record is essentially tentative. That cited by Whittaker remains unverified, but is accepted. The 'NE point of Dunnet Head' is presumably to be identified as Easter Head.

The form of the name of this vessel that is cited by Whittaker differs from that cited in the primary account; the former is preferred.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 27 April 2007.
