This limekiln is situated in a patch of uncultivated ground 130m ESE of the farmhouse at Bailliefurth. It has been set into a W-facing slope to a depth of at least 2m, but the pot, which measures about 2.6m in internal diameter, is now largely full of rubble. The draw-hole has been on the W side, though it is no longer visible.

The kiln is depicted on both the 1st and 2nd editions of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1875, sheet XLVI; 1903, sheet XLVIA); on the latter it is annotated 'Old Limekiln'.

Visited by RCAHMS (JRS, LM) 22 August 2006.
