A short section of zig-zag trench was observed on RCAHMS oblique aerial photograph E36600 (RCAHMSAP 2003), on the Spion Kop feature, located between the 300m ETR range (NO53SW 85.02) and the target shed at NO 538 318. This is possibly of WW1 date, and may have been used as part of machine-gun training.
