NT 2632 7369 Architectural assessment during stabilisation works revealed that this property contained substantial elements of a 16th or 17th-century back tenement property. There had been five phases of subsequent alteration, most notably around the time of the laying out of St John Street in the later 18th century when a classically proportioned frontage was formed. This phase also included the addition of an upper storey, the existing roof structure, and many of the surviving internal features.
