Langton House is depicted on the OS 2nd Edition map (Berwickshire sheet XVI, 1898). It was demolished c. 1950, but the Estate buildings remain.

Letter: Mary Gavin, 1st Marchioness of Bredalbane to Laurence Davidson, W.S. She wishes him 'to find a young man who may have served his apprenticeship to a respectable plumber and glazier to take charge of the house at Taymouth' (pipes, gutters, windows etc.). Ask Laurence Davidson to call on William Burn, the architect, and ask him to help find a suitable person. Also ... ...
Mr Burn is making some little plans for Langton and she would like the sketches promised without delay.
