NT85NE 49.05 centred 8629 5575

The prisoner-of-war camp noted in R J C Thomas's camp list (Project Report. Twentieth Century Military Recording Project, Prisoner-of-war Camps (1939-1948), National Monuments Centre, English Heritage, July 2003), has been identified from vertical air photographs (106G/Scot/UK 15, 7121-7122, flown 15 April 1946), about 91m NW of the site of Ninewells House (NT85NE 49.00).

All that is visible on the photographs are at least eight huts, of which six are of the Nissen type situated amongst some deciduous tree cover. Also visible are some military vehicles. The location of the camp would suggest that Ninewells House may have been requisitioned during the war.

Information from RCAHMS (DE), May 2005.
