A barrage balloon mooring site has been identified from a post-war RAF vertical air photograph (106G/Scot/UK 10, 7037, flown 15 April 1946) immediately N of the Main Basin near the S end of Cochrane Road. The site was subsequently redeveloped during the construction of the submarine hoists.
