On display in the St Columba Centre, Fionnphort is a wedge-shaped grave-marker, 0.36m by 0.27m, broken at the bottom (Iona stone no 22). It bears a compass-drawn cross with expanded arms, made into a Chi-rho by a hook attached to the upper arm. Along the top edge is a half-uncial inscription reading: LAPIS ECHODI ('The stone of Echoid'). The Old Irish personal name Echoid, Latinised as Echodius, was a common one. Professor K H Jackson suggested a 7th-century date.

I Fisher 2001.
