20 December 1862, ONEGA, 12 yrs old, brig, 203 tons, 10 crew, carrying flour, butter, etc., stranded, total loss, 10 lives lost, wind NNW12, Bar of Kyle of Tongue, Sutherlandshire.

Loch Eribol, 31st Dec. The ONEGA, Fyffe, of and for Dundee, from Montreal, was totally lost with all hands at Tongue Kyle 20th Dec.

Wick, 20th Jan. 192bls. of flour, 25 do (? Ditto) oilcake, 10 kegs of butter, 569 pipestaves, and a quantity of battens, spars, &c., were found on the beach at Kyle of Tongue 12th Jan., and some square timber, battens and spars on Thurso beach on the 13th. [the ONEGA, from Montreal to Dundee, with flour, butter, &c., was wrecked at the Kyle of Tongue 20th Dec.].
