Rosyth Dockyard falls within the Forth gun defended area and had comprehensive barrage balloon defence system. All the barrage balloon mooring sites have been identified from wartime and post-war RAF vertical air photographs (sorties shown with each individual sub-numbered site). Most have now been demolished, most usually by the construction of housing.
