I G Whittaker 1998.

(Location of loss entered as NO c. 733 567 [N56 42.1 W2 26.3]). The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. This vessel apparently stranded on the rocks around the base of Montroseness (Scurdie Ness) Lighthouse (NO75NW 48), which is at NO 73322 56758.

Montrose Ness is not noted as such on the 1999 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map, but is to be equated with Scurdie Ness.

The location of loss cited by Whittaker differs from that cited in the primary account; the latter is preferred.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 18 July 2003.
