UNITY, 12 ton, smack, master McRoy, of Belfast. Bound from Belfast to Islay. Vessel value ?90. No cargo. Crew 3 all saved. Lost 8 Oct 1906, 3am. Claggan Bay (Claggain Bay) 5 miles south of MacArthurs head Lighthouse. Wind south south west.

'Vessel anchored at Claggan Bay. Vessel dragged her anchor & drifted ashore. Likely to become a total wreck'.

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative.

The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), possibly suggesting her successful recovery.
