Situated immediately NE of the new (late 1960's) entrance lock, this building of distinctive form is known as 'the Pagoda'. Apart from controlling entry to the Leith Docks system (NT57NE 57.00) it is the operations centre of Forth Navigation Service, and exercises control over shipping throughout the extensive area of the Firth of Forth through an integrated radar system.
