Cropmarks which seem likely to represent the rounded SE corner of a single-ditched fortlet, together with portions of the adjacent sides, have been recorded during RCAHMS aerial survey, on the right bank of the River Almond, immediately opposite the old village of Livingston. The N-S dimension cannot exceed 70m and the E-W dimension is unlikely to exceed 80m. In size, character and, more significantly, its situation far from any known road, the site resembles the newly confirmed fortlet at Kirkland (NX89SW 41).
