The footings of a disused jetty are the only recorded archaeological evidence within the SSSI.

A jetty is depicted on the first edition of the OS 6-inch map and is named as an old jetty on the second edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross & Cromarty 1880 and 1904 respectively, sheet lxxxix). The jetty is also shown as reduced in size on the current edition of the OS 1:10,000 map (1976).
