Construction of this airfield began early in 1940, and it was extended during 1942. One runway was lengthened in 1943 as the airfield had been designated as a reserve base for Bomber Command. The airfield closed sometime during 1944.

At the present time the runways are badly deteriorated.

D J Smith 1983.

This airfield is situated to the NW of Wick on the E side of the B 876 public road near Killimster. Many buildings survive in the former technical area which surrounding the famrsteading at Andor. The buildings are mainly in use as animal sheds or for farm vehicles. The runways have mainly been destroyed by quarrying and a large corrugated iron shed has been constructed on the S end of the N-S runway. The northern side has recently been cleared and is now a pile of rubble. The gym is still extant beside the road.
