Monitoring of contractors' foundation trenches by SUAT revealed a quantity of probable 19th-century imported garden soil. Sealed below was an E-W aligned, random coursed, clay bonded stone wall. This wall appears to represent the base of a garden retaining wall or property division, also of modern date.
