This is a very large, multi-period complex, containing both E- and L-shaped plan ranges, which includes a grieve's house, a barn with a water-powered threshing machine, covered cattle courts and extensive byres and stables. There is also a separate smiddy/henhouse, sheepfolds and workers' houses. The steading was partly in use, as workshop and storage space and to house livestock, on the date of survey, with some of the buildings in a state of good repair and others ruinous.

Visited by RCAHMS (GJD), July 1993; see NMRS MS 744/117.
