A heavy anti-aircraft battery (H6) of 4 x 4.5" guns.
J Guy 1993; NMRS MS 810/2
A heavy anti-aircraft battery situated on rising ground 250m W of Rysa Lodge (ND39NW 6). Originally of four emplacements, with several associated buildings, many which survive as footings or concrete bases. The four emplacements now incorporate octagonal farm sheds within them and the remains of the concrete structures. In the immediate vicinity are three concrete structures, one almost certainly the control point. Two mounds also survive, possible machine gun posts and there are possible posts forming the Gl-mat for radar guidance to the S.
Accommodation block hut bases survive on each side of the track that runs from the main road (B9047). (Visible on vertical air photographs, (RAF LEU/UK 4, pt.1, 7029 - 7030, flown 1948)
Visited by RCAHMS (DE) May 1996
