Roman and medieval pottery sherds were found N of Carpow Roman legionary fortress (NO21NW 24.00). The Roman pottery consisted of an amphora handle fragment of a Samian mortarium, the rim fragment of a small jar and two flue-tile fragments.

Medieval pottery consisted of four sherds of white gritty, inlcuding a jug handle, and three fragments of red ware.
