NO20SE 53 28 03.

A programme of fieldwalking was undertaken to the N of the Balfarg henge (NO20SE 5) complex. Of the 16 fields examined, 14 produced Neolithic and Early Bronze Age flints and 11 produced medieval pottery. Parts of two shale bracelets were discovered in close proximity in the field directly NE of Balfarg Riding School. Apart from a small scatter of Neolithic flints approximately 300 metres N of Balfarg henge, no other concentrations of material were located.. However, an overall distribution of isolated worked flints suggest this area to have been consistently occupied during the Neolithic and Bronze Age.
